I must be nuts painting with a brush this small, I didn't even notice I was using this little half inch brush until this morning. I also use my favorite pallet knife, that seems to be all I need to create.
I just got off the phone with Kristi (FRENCH-WORD-A-DAY) - she thinks I need to put this painting up for sale right now, right here....so here goes. Please let me know if you would like to bid on BRAISE &
SAM....BIDDING STARTS AT $500. PLUS SHIPPING AND HANDLING. I'll find out what this cost is next week, Kristi told me to just get on the bus and find a packing and shipping place to find the price. You can follow along with me on this adventure if you like, I don't know how long this painting is going to
take to finish - this will be my fourth day of work. As you can see from the past photo's I'm having trouble with Braise's mouth - I guess it would help if I would look at the photo once in a while. Of course I have never painted a dog before but the excitment and energy I received from the story of their romp in Marseille just 'dogged' me into a painting. Kristi if you get a chance maybe you can post
the link to your story here in my comments box. If you haven't already read this love story you are in for a great experience.
Kristi - HONEY - if you find the time could you please put my email address to contact me on the side bar of my blog. Isn't this what kids are for???
To all of my new friends here please send me a note to let me know who you are in the comments box,
THIS WILL GIVE ME THE ENERGY TO CARRY ON - I HAVE BEEN STUMBLING ALONG BUT MAYBE NOW I AM READY TO STAY THE COURSE.
XOXO
JULES
Hi Jules
Just having a little visit and found a beautiful painting of Braise and Sam... Braise just needs a few pearly whites to complete her cheeky smile! Have fun painting...I am having a painting day today as well...a little seaside series to fit into an old door...cheers for now Gretel :)

Hi Gretel, I am so excited that you are visiting my site. You are my first visitor, other than Kristi, so you will always be #1 in my thoughts when I remember who actually helped me along this new path. Thanks for taking the time to encourage me, I reworked Braise's mouth, I finally realized that she has an upper lip just like the rest of us. And her smile continues right up even with her nose. I never realized that - I am now studying her photograph more closely so the painting should improve over the next week.
XOXO - JULES

Hi Mom, Hello Gretel,
Mom, I posted a note and some links when this post came out -- and they never appeared! I realize, now, that (for Typepad users) one must be signed in in order to comment!
Mom, I am happy to see that you are painting -- it is what brings you the most joy... apart from meeting people.
What a wonderful surprise, to see Sam and Braise immortalized in your painting! Here is the link to their Honeymoon in Marseilles story:

Also, in response to your renewed determination to paint and to sell your work, I wanted to include the link to the last painting you sold. Here is the Pear portrait gallery, in which "a little painting--our dear "Pear" came to life..." I know her new owners, Diane and Ralph, cherish "her":

Lots of love and keep that little (tiny!) paintbrush moving!

Hi Kristi,
Thanks Honey for all of your help with this blog. The links are just perfect. The 'BRAISE & SAILOR SAM' painting has changed alot in the past 24 hours, Braise is now looking more vibrant and in control after her little escapade in Marseille. I've decided to take her tail out of the painting and today I am working on her hat. I am so happy you and Gretel are here with me.
XOXO
JULES

Hola Jules! (et "Bonjour" aussi!) I just realized today whilst reading "entrelacer" that your name was in red, so I just HAD to investigate. What a lovely blog: your home is beautiful and your mari est tres, tres beau! Thank you for sharing your heart so freely with us. I will check back often.
Warmest regards,
Diane Scott (Pear's mom)
